Indication:
Prevention and treatment of Vitamin C deficiency and scurvy. Also indicated in: infections, fever, common cold, trauma, burns, wound healing, post-surgical recovery, antioxidant support, and for children receiving unfortified formulas.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults:
Prevention of scurvy: 1 tablet (250 mg) daily
Treatment of scurvy: 1–2 tablets (250–500 mg) daily; dose may be increased depending on severity
General use / other conditions: 1–2 tablets daily or as directed by the physician
Effervescent tablets (500 mg / 1000 mg): Dissolve one tablet in a full glass of water before administration
Maximum safe dose: 2000 mg daily in divided doses
Children: Dose should be determined according to age and clinical condition.
Special populations or regimens: Use with caution in patients with renal impairment or hyperoxaluria. Megadoses (more than 1000 mg daily) during pregnancy may cause scurvy in neonates and should be avoided.
