Indication:
Treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms including acute maxillary sinusitis, acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, nosocomial pneumonia, complicated and uncomplicated urinary tract infections, acute pyelonephritis, chronic bacterial prostatitis, uncomplicated and complicated skin and soft tissue infections including abscesses, cellulitis, furuncles, impetigo, pyoderma, and wound infections. Also indicated for inhalation anthrax (post-exposure) to prevent the development of inhalational anthrax following exposure to Bacillus anthracis.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: 250–500 mg once daily depending on the severity and type of infection. In severe infections, the dose may be increased up to 750 mg once daily as directed by the physician.
Children: Not recommended for children under 18 years of age unless clearly indicated by the physician (e.g., specific infections where no alternative exists).
Special populations or regimens: Dose adjustment may be required in patients with renal impairment.
Dose and duration should be determined by the registered physician.
