Indication:
Treatment of acid-related disorders including gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, peptic ulcer disease, NSAID-associated gastric and duodenal ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection in combination with appropriate antibiotics.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: For GERD and erosive esophagitis: 20 mg once daily for 4–8 weeks. For gastric ulcer: 40 mg once daily for 4–8 weeks. For Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: starting dose 60 mg once daily adjusted to individual patient needs. For H. pylori eradication: 20 mg twice daily in combination with appropriate antibiotics as directed by the physician.
Children: Dose should be determined by the physician according to age and body weight.
Special populations or regimens: No dosage adjustment is required in renal impairment, hepatic impairment, or in elderly patients. Capsules should be taken before meals and must be swallowed whole — do not chew or crush.
