Indication:
Management of neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, spinal cord injury, and fibromyalgia. Also indicated as adjunctive therapy for adult patients with partial onset seizures and for generalized anxiety disorder.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: Initial dose 75 mg twice daily or 50 mg three times daily, which may be increased based on patient response up to a maximum of 600 mg daily in divided doses.
Adults: Initial dose 75 mg twice daily or 50 mg three times daily (150 mg/day), which may be increased based on patient response. Maximum daily dose: 300 mg for diabetic peripheral neuropathy; 300 mg for postherpetic neuralgia; 450 mg for fibromyalgia; 600 mg for partial seizures and generalized anxiety disorder.
Children: Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.
Special populations or regimens: Dose adjustment is required in patients with renal impairment. When discontinuing, taper gradually over a minimum of 1 week to minimize withdrawal symptoms.
Dose and duration should be determined by the registered physician.
