Indication:
Treatment of acid-related disorders including duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, gastritis, gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: 20 mg twice daily or 40 mg once daily at bedtime depending on the severity of the condition. For maintenance therapy: 20 mg once daily at bedtime. Cochrane Library Most ulcer patients heal within 4–8 weeks.
Children: Dose should be determined by the physician according to age and body weight.
Special populations or regimens: Dose adjustment may be required in patients with renal impairment.
