Indication:
Prevention and treatment of dehydration associated with acute diarrhoea of any etiology including cholera, vomiting, and other conditions causing loss of fluids and electrolytes in patients of all age groups. Also indicated for prevention of acidosis due to electrolyte imbalance.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults & Children: Dissolve the full contents of one sachet in 500 mL (½ litre) of safe drinking water. Do not mix with hot water or heat the prepared solution. After each loose stool or vomiting:
Children under 2 years: 50–100 mL (10–20 teaspoonfuls)
Children 2–10 years: 100–200 mL (½ to 1 glass)
Adults and children above 10 years: 200–400 mL (1–2 glasses)
Daily dose should be equivalent to the patient’s fluid requirement for maintenance and replenishment of losses.
Special populations or regimens: The prepared solution should be used within 12 hours of preparation and any unused solution must be discarded. Continue breastfeeding during therapy. Normal feeding should be continued in adults.
Dose and duration should be determined by the registered physician.
