Indication:
Treatment of helminth infections including intestinal nematode infections such as ascariasis, enterobiasis (pinworm), hookworm infection, trichuriasis, strongyloidiasis, taeniasis, neurocysticercosis, and hydatid disease caused by susceptible organisms.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: 400 mg as a single dose for common intestinal helminth infections. In strongyloidiasis and taeniasis, 400 mg once daily for 3 consecutive days. In hydatid disease: patients weighing over 60 kg: 400 mg twice daily for 28 days; patients weighing less than 60 kg: 15 mg/kg/day in two divided doses (maximum 800 mg daily).
Children (above 2 years): 400 mg as a single dose. Children aged 1–2 years: 200 mg as a single dose. Children weighing less than 10 kg: dose may be reduced to 200 mg. Not recommended for children under 1 year.
Special populations or regimens: In hydatid disease and neurocysticercosis, prolonged therapy with repeated cycles may be required as directed by the physician.
